I like to take pictures.

There’s a whole sale market in Liaocheng where I go when I’m bored to buy crap and speak Chinese with the merchants.  There is a part of town, about six or seven square blocks, where the gears of industry in China roar and rumble.  Yesterday was the first day in several weeks that I had been back there, and since my last visit an entire length of road had been torn up.  The roads were covered in a fine red dust that seemed to cling more easily to air than to the ground.

Paper cranes have given way to steel ones as a symbol of the East.  They seem to me like giant metal creatures that tower over the city of Liaocheng, lay dormant at night come to life each morning.

Not much to say about this one…just thought it was cool.
